Emission reduction drives the rapid growth of barrier pet market in Europe

schnwald, a packaging industry management consulting company, predicted in a report released on July 30 that the demand for improved barrier PET bottles in Europe will increase from 3.94 billion in 2009 to 6.3 billion in 2014

in May this year, the European plastics journal held a barrier PET bottle conference in Brussels, Belgium. Information from relevant units at the conference showed that the market for improved barrier PET bottles will continue to grow strongly. Shenwald predicts that the average annual growth rate of barrier PET polyester in the next few years will be 10%, and the continuous improvement of the requirements for emission reduction in the packaging industry will become the key driving force for the growth of demand for this variety. It is reported that when entering the filling production line, the CO2 emitted by PET bottles is 50% less than that of glass bottles. The test shows that the container made of barrier PET material can prevent alcohol from being oxidized for more than two years

shenwald's research results involve the barrier packaging markets in Western Europe, Central Europe and Eastern Europe with the largest selection of 5-ton models from 33 countries, including data from 27 EU countries, Russia and Ukraine. The brewing industry was the main consumption area of blocking PET bottles in these 33 countries in 2009. A total of 2.32 billion blocking PET bottles were used, 1.34 billion blocking PET bottles were used in the fruit juice and fruit juice beverage industry, and only 280million blocking PET bottles were used for mineral water, carbon fiber cost, quality control experience sharing water and soft drink packaging bottles

shenwald also said that in 2009, more than half of the improved barrier PET bottles consumed in Europe were produced by PET Blends. The multi-layer technology accounted for 29% of the market share, and the internal and external coating technology accounted for less than 20%. The consumption of barrier pet in the global beer industry will increase by 11% annually by 2012, and the annual growth rate of inspected machinery operation from 2012 to 2016 will be higher, up to 15%
